Project Progress - Age UK

Works on site are progressing well with the new complex roof structure under construction by our own directly employed carpenters.

The impressive temporary roof structure, encapsulating the original roof of the Age UK building, was specially designed for the project and took 3 weeks to strike.

The two-storey extension to the existing centre will incorporate large windows and central light-wells to create a fresh interior environment suiting the needs of Age UK and their guests with an exciting new timber and zinc clad external facade.

When complete, the scheme will be vital to Age UK in helping to support the increasing needs of local older people in Herne Bay and Whitstable by offering additional day care facilities and further office accommodation for rent to local charities and community groups, the revenue from which contributes to support the running of the Charity.
